Weekend Getaway - MNSS2

MNSS2 = Mickey's Not So Scary 2

Maren is almost always the one in the family to suggest ideas that others would almost certainly consider a bit insane. These ideas are what keeps our little family living life rather than rotting in our home watching junk on TV (which would be my natural inclination). So we packed up the kids on a Wed evening and drove to my sister's home in Cary, NC. We arrived just in time to go to bed and woke up early. With a Sequoia full of people, luggage, and Halloween Costumes, we headed for the happiest place on earth.

The drive is long 14-15 hours from our house in Frederick, so the break in NC was very helpful. We were excited that gas prices were finally starting to drop quickly just as we were taking this trip. It is sad when I think how much joy we received each time we saw a lower price (I think the lowest we saw was around $2.47 - prices had been hovering in the $3.50 range) By 5:00pm, we were checked in to a hotel and fully costumed for Disney World's MNSS Halloween party.

One night of fun and a day spent at the pool with the Smith clan (thanks for treating us to a "kitchen sink"!) and we were back on the road heading home. We left Cary on Sun morning and made it back in time for our 1pm church. Next weekend Dad is in charge of the itinerary... whew...
